We have grown all of these ourselves from cuttings. All originate from the same “Mother” plant that we found growing in a NSW garden. It had been growing there for over 20 years and was still the perfect variegate. We have continued to refine the variegation over the past 6 years by only choosing the best “Mothers” to propagate from.
No, it was not produced in a lab or done by tissue culture, it is an anomaly of nature and a fine gorgeous one! The variegation is caused by genetic mutation, a Chimera, where some cells are green (has chlorophyll) and others are white (no chlorophyll).
We propagate all our Monstera albo in the pot NOT in water, what this means for you is strong, stable roots that are taking up nutrients in the pot.
