Anthurium scherzerianum, you can see why it is sometimes called the “Pig-Tail Anthurium”.
The red/orange flowers are standard and the white spotted ones are know as Anthurium scherzerianum “rothschildianum” are much more rare.
Blooms are long lasting but not suitable for cut flowers. And the plant blooms young and often.
PLEASE don’t buy these for the current flower – the current flower may be old and not last much longer but shows that the plant really is the colour we say.
Unlike other Anthuriums, Anthurium scherzerianum are slow growers! These plants are all a couple years old – so expect a few leaf marks, blemishes and spots.
We will post them in the pot and all are in 100mm pots unless marked otherwise.
Otherwise, just treat as you would any anthurium. They like a nice open, well-draining mix. Give it filtered medium to low light and a moderate amount of water, allowing to dry out totally between waters. And to thrive and flower it needs a moderate amount (not a lot) of feed.

Super large with unusual double flowers of a rich red colour.
There is an older flower still persisting, and what appears to be another flower emerging from the pot – multiple growing points.
