Dracaena surculosa “Golden Dragon”
A stunning variegated form of Dracaena surculosa. These are nice big, full plants in 140mm pots. Fully established and growing strongly. These are grown here at Odd Spot Plants by us from cuttings.
Dracaena surculosa “Golden Dragon” is often mis-named on other varieties. And to be honest we are not 100% sure of the naming of this plant, as are unable to find any more details and can’t find anyone else stocking this plant in Australia.
Neil and Lisa first discoverd a single (very unloved) plant in a small, remote Northern Territory nursery and have never seen it anywhere else. They then nurtured this plant back to health and then have propagated these amazing specimens.
It is not to be confused with the Tissue Culture plant Dracaena marginata “Golden Dragon” which looks totally different and is a totally different species.
Regardless it is a very striking plant. A pale green margin encompasses the dark green centre of the leaf and then pale green dots freckle the entire leaf. This makes for a very unique plant – that none of your plant friends will have.
It is a very hardy indoor plant and suited to those of us who sometimes forget to water.
Pretty much the only thing that will upset them is water logging! No water in the saucer and keep on the drier side. So, if you’re not sure if it needs watering – wait a day. And use an open, well-draining potting mix.
Your Dracaena surculosa “Golden Dragon” will prefer High to Medium light.
The plant you will receive will be similar to those in the photos. The Odd Spot team will choose a nice one for you. It will be posted in it’s 140mm pot with Express Post. Postage is included in the price.
