Oxalis triangularis purpurea BULBS

Oxalis triangularis purpurea bulbs (Rhizomes)

We are pleased to offer you some “bulb” of the gorgeous Oxalis triangularis purpurea. Officially, these are rhizomes but because everyone refers to them as bulbs that is what we are calling them also.

We have packs available in 100, 50, 20 or 5 bulbs (see below) OR if you want a bulk amount – just ask.

Oxalis triangularis, commonly called ‘purple shamrock’ or ‘false shamrock’ due to its triangular leaves of a deep striking, two tone purple.

It is an easy plant to care for and good for the beginner house plant collector. Give it filtered bright to medium light and a moderate amount of water, allowing to dry out inbetween waters. And they do like some fertilizer.

It’s a spectacular looking plant and will make a great talking point. It produces soft pink flowers which you can remove or leave depending on your taste.

Plant the bulbs in good quality potting mix in pots, within a couple days of receiving them. They do NOT require a dormant period and are best planted straight away. We recommend one bulb per 100mm pot to produce a nice dense plant. Keep moist but not overly wet. And in about 2-3 weeks you should start to see leaves poking up – it depends a lot on the temperature.

Once your plant appears, keep watered but allow to dry between waterings. Regularly fertilize.
