Philodendron rugosum “Pig Skin Philo”
The textured leaf is what gives rise to the common name “pig skin philodendron”. It is a gorgeous tessellated pattern and needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.
Overall it’s a gorgeous philodendron. The leaf I’m holding here is about full size. So it is a medium grower, that is ideally suited to indoor growing; though will grow equally well in a sheltered area outside.
Whilst classed as a ‘climber’ it’s not a vigorous climber and with short internodes it takes many years for it to become tall – so it is not one to take over!
It is a native to the forests of Ecuador and I’m told it is on the ‘threatened list’. So hopefully, these seed that Neil has set for us and the subsequent plants will help.
Yes, we have laboured long and hard to set the seed, (many a midnight trip to the Nursery); persevered with the tiny seedlings; to now present these adorable plants that are well on their way.
As always these are pot grown (not water) and so conditioned and ready to grow in your home.
The plant you will receive will be similar to those in the photos. The Odd Spot team will choose a nice one for you. It will be posted in it’s 100mm pot with Express Post. Postage is included in the price.
