Variegated Monstera deliciosa borsigiana, Borsigiana ‘Albo’ Variegata; Monstera albo; half moon Monstera – whatever you like to call it; we have them available; we grow them ourselves from cuttings and they are GORGEOUS.
There has been a lot of hype about this plant for the last year or so. They are coveted by every plant grower and this is your chance to get one for yourself and be the envy of your own plant friends. And I have to say that for once the hype is worth it – these plants are actually more stunning in real and if you’ve not seen one yet, you are in for a treat.
Neil and I searched high and low to find a gorgeous variegate that was stable and would continue to grow beautiful leaves for you. We found it hidden, in a secret garden in NSW where it had been growing for over 20 years and was still the perfect variegate.
No, it was not produced in a lab or done by tissue culture, it is an anomaly of nature and a fine gorgeous one! The variegation is caused by genetic mutation, a Chimera, where some cells are green (has chlorophyll) and others are white (no chlorophyll).
Each of our Variegated Monstera deliciosa borsigiana are hand-picked cuttings from our best Mother plants – we analyse each one carefully – and then lovingly tend to them until they are fully rooted; putting on new leaves and ready for their forever home.
We propagate all our Monstera albo in the pot NOT in water, what this means for you is strong, stable roots that are taking up nutrients in the pot. Please note we don’t sell rooted cuttings due to the risk that they may or may not survive. We only sell fully established plants with 3 to 5 (plus) leaves that we know you will love, just like the ones here 🥰
